on sunday, me and siri (who i’ve been living with since i got back from new york!) decided to walk all the way to ocean beach, which is aaall the wast west on the san francisco peninsula. we started in lower pac heights and walked along the panhandle, where the houses are this beautiful.
the panhandle merges into golden gate park, which is just an immense place. so green, and the air—omg. I HAD FORGOT WHAT THE AIR HERE SMELLS LIKE.
the park is filled with eucalyptus, cypress and pine trees, which makes it smell so sweet and fresh.
we walked by the bison paddock where the bison were hanging around this very day! the times i’ve been here, they’ve been here sometimes and sometimes not. i never know when or what it depends on, but we were however happy to see them.
nom nom grass.
i posed against a tangled tree but most of all, it was tank top weather! thanks california for january weather like this (although, it has been raining A LOT…).
at the very end of golden gate park just before you get out to ocean beach, there is the dutch windmill. so it feels like you’re a little bit like in a fairy tale.
and then, the scenery quickly changed when we got out here!
hello ocean beach.
look at the haze at the horizon. ain’t it just SO PRETTY? ugh mother nature tho
there was a beautiful australian shepherd playing right where the waves were sweeping in.
down from the beach, we walked upwards along the street that goes up the little mountain.
where we reached sutro baths, where there was a swimming pool complex back in the 1800s that burned down in the 1960s. now there’s just ruins left, but you can still kind of see the structure and it’s super fascinating and beautiful.
thanks for this time, ocean. (and remember, the cure for anything is salt—tears, sweat or the sea.)
i söndags tog jag och siri en låååång promme ända längst västerut där ocean beach ligger. vi gick genom golden gate park och hejade på bisonoxarna, andades in salta luften och spanade in ruinerna från sutro baths. <3
